Hello there…

It’s an experience of early music with a difference. We invite you to join us on a journey of discovering music hundreds of years old, some rarely heard and some vaguely familiar perhaps. But it’s all fresh, honest and on the edge of the possibilities. Every concert is carefully curated and carries a story of its own: musicians are hand-picked, as is the food menu for each concert…food plays a very important role!  We cook real homemade meals for all our musicians and make handmade focaccia and biscuits available to our audiences. Our home is in an active church that is very much a part of the festival and helps us realise our festival of early music and food.

Team

Nicola Barbagli
Director
Born and raised in Arezzo (the best place in the world according to him), Italy, Nicola possesses an unquenchable thirst for finding new ‘old’ music. When he’s not playing the oboe or the accordion, he loves digging through old manuscripts and bookshops to find old scores to make parts or new arrangements. He still has a CD collection.

John-Henry Baker
Director
Born in Arequipa, Peru, and raised in Lima and Lincolnshire, JHB loves nothing but a challenge. As well as playing the double bass, he is responsible for recording and filming and risograph printing aspects, among others.

Guido Della Lena Guidiccioni
Festival Assistant
Guido is from Lucca, Italy, and is an archaeologist by training, but his skills are many and far-ranging – from making focaccia to managing the front of house and logistics.

Bianca Baldacci
Graphic Designer
Bianca is from Milan, Italy, and lives in London with her partner Andrea (our harpsicord mover) and their two kids. She is the ‘Bi’ in Binomi, a graphic design practice based in East London… but she is much more than two simple letters!
